Not your Mama’s harmonica!

I always thought this instrument was cool, and didn’t get enough play. It’s called a Glass Harmonica. Ya ever see that video of Hugh Hefner playing music using champagne glasses?  It’s the same idea, only stacked up and tipped over. It was actually created by Ben Franklin around 1761. It was originally thought to cause insanity. That in part is why it fell into obscurity, and is not seen much today. Oh Ben, what will you think of next? Nothing. You’re dead.

This is proof that aliens landed, and we have their technology.

While trying to find a video to show off a Theremin [which is f'ing cool(and the post will still happen eventually)], I found this little gem. Seriously, I do not understand the technology. I guess that’s fine. After all when I went to find out how to get a “Drawdio”, I was directed to http://web.media.mit.edu/~silver/drawdio/ . Yes, MIT. M-I-motherfucking-T. Don’t they have more important things to create?

You’ve seen it…

…you can’t unsee it!

No seriously. That just happened. It’s good to see Santa getting work in the off-season. I’m not sure who the second guy is, but Santa’s real name there is Steve Hickman, the worlds greatest Hambone player? Uh no… hamboner… no that doesn’t sound right. Hambonist? Sure, we’ll go with that. The worlds greatest Hambonist.

Sure, he’s an asshole, but…

…I’ll be damned if it doesn’t seem like he knows what he’s talking about in the studio! They should put a lock on the outside of that studio door. Seems like an extremely talented guy, but…

…did I mention he seems like an asshole?

Yep, he gets all the bitches. Who would have guessed? Accordian made Vivaldi seem somewhat… Cool(?) again! At least interesting. Way to go there Elroy Jetson.

Con Fuego!

Hey all. I’m starting up this little blog for my own benefit. I’m a huge music fan., who’s starting up at a music college soon. I love music.  The funky, the lovely, the intense, the classical, the gritty, the sloppy, the precise, the kooky, and the divine. It’s all good. Well…mostly all good. This is just gonna be an outlet to showcase some of the stuff I find particularly cool.

Don’t fool yourself. Though there will be some examples of classical music, this is no high falootin’, high-brow snoot-fest blog. There’s gonna be a little bit of everything on here.

Seriously, just check it out.
